Mike is committed to ensuring that KMS provides high quality service while maintaining a connection with the community. Mike has planned and managed more than 1500 construction projects valued at more than $6.8 billion. With a commitment to excellence and leadership combined with his industry experience, Mike is able to provide relevant consulting to our clients and guidance to the KMS organization.

James Kemp

Experience:
James is responsible for project operations for client accounts and the business operations of the company that support the overall organization—finance, accounting, IT infrastructure, recruiting, and client relations. James has been a part of business operations in some capacity at KMS for the last nine years starting as a financial analyst with the firm. James is passionate about ensuring the organization operates as efficiently as possible to help our team add value for our clients every day. Outside of work, James enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, watching Laker basketball or Alabama football, or getting outside on the golf course.

Julian Grant

Director of Program Development

BS in Civil Engineering from Alabama A&M University; Master's Degree in Information Engineering & Management from UAB; Certified Energy Manager recognized by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE)

Experience:
Julian is a firm believer that cultivating meaningful relationships is the key to producing successful projects. As Director of Program Development, Julian spearheads strategic partnerships, client account development, and new project opportunities. With over 10 years of experience in the utility industry, Julian has a proven track record of driving revenue growth by helping clients identify ways to incorporate efficiency measures into their current processes. His expertise lies in power delivery, commercial and industrial end-use sales, account management, governmental affairs, and community development. Julian’s client-centric approach allows him to take complex client issues and translate them into effective business strategies. Through transparent communication and proactive problem-solving, he is committed to ensuring that KMS delivers on its client commitments. Outside of work, Julian enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, traveling abroad, and playing golf with friends.

Katia Miller

Director of Project Operations

Qualifications:
M.S Architecture from University of Sao Paulo; M.S Architecture and Urban Design from Columbia University; Licensed Architect in the State of Georgia

Experience:
Katia has 25 years of experience in the construction industry managing high-profile projects from the design concept through the construction phase. Responsible for project operations, especially financial projects, she has a clear understanding of all stages encompassing the life cycle of financial programs. She is passionate about operational workflow, quality control, and work optimization. Katia's active listening skill ensures that KMS's financial team exceeds clients' expectations. When not at work, Katia likes to go for long runs or attend the Alabama Symphony Orchestra.
